Eligible UK based professionals include:

  • Arts Therapist (Art Therapist, Music Therapist, Dramatherapist, Dance Movement Psychotherapist) registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK (ADMPUK);
  • CBT Therapist registered with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Counselling Psychotherapies (BABCP)
  • Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS);
  • Counsellor registered with either the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA), Human Givens Institute (HGI), National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), or UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP);
  • Mental Health Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). You must meet the following additional eligibility criteria: (i) have mental health training and experience working in a mental health setting, and can recognise and assess common mental health problems; (ii) have training and a minimum of two years’ experience of providing one-to-one psychotherapy, either as part of your professional training or in addition to it; (iii) be able to provide evidence of the above, such as CV or letter from your clinical supervisor;
  • Mental Health Social Worker registered with either Social Work England (SWE), Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), Social Care Wales (SCW). You must meet the following additional eligibility criteria: (i) have mental health training and experience working in a mental health setting, and can recognise and assess common mental health problems; (ii) have training and a minimum of two years’ experience of providing one-to-one psychotherapy, either as part of your professional training or in addition to it; (iii) be able to provide evidence of the above, such as CV or letter from your clinical supervisor;
  • Mental Health Occupational Therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You must meet the following additional eligibility criteria: (i) have mental health training and experience working in a mental health setting, and can recognise and assess common mental health problems; (ii) have training and a minimum of two years’ experience of providing one-to-one psychotherapy, either as part of your professional training or in addition to it; (iii) be able to provide evidence of the above, such as CV or letter from your clinical supervisor;
  • Play Therapist registered with Play Therapy UK (PTUK) or the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT);
  • Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical/Counselling/Forensic/Educational Psychologist) registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC);
  • Psychiatrist registered with the General Medical Council (GMC). You will need to hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT);
  • Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS);
  • Psychotherapist registered with either the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), British Psychological Society (BPS), Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA), Human Givens Institute (HGI), National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), or UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

All applicants must be mental health practitioners who are fully qualified, registered with their profession’s regulatory body, and hold professional indemnity that insurance covers working therapeutically. 

CATT fits with UK NICE guidance and World Health Organisation (WHO) guidlines for treating complex trauma and PTSD in children and young people.
